Black and white with Apple

I am a traditional photographer. My roots are firmly planted in film and darkroom printing. Chemicals and reels, trays and safe lights......

Yesterday I purchased an iPhone 6 and iPad mini combo. It was a deal thing through my local carrier. After a day getting the basics (email and such) in all the right places I did some research on black and white photo apps and editing software.

I know..... It isn't film and it isn't a darkroom. Honestly with my schedule lately I haven't had much time for film photography. I have been thinking of ways to continue to shoot and blog in and around my busy schedule.

So here I am. I'm typing (hen pecking with my index fingers) this very blog with my iPad mini. I took a few test shots with the iPhone 6 and did some editing on the mini after sending the photos to the cloud. Another first for me. Geez all this technology at once!

I am simply blown away.....

Mono black and white photos were taken with an app called Lenka. Recommended to me by my google search.

Photo editing done in Adobe PS Express. A Fantastic program from my favorite photo editing company.

The results are fantastic. I am impressed with the quality of the camera on the iPhone and the results from editing in PS Express. All on this little mini tablet where I can surf the web, check my email, listen to music and edit photos.

Backyard pool at sunset. Flare from lens ( no PS) and ever so slightly edited:

I think I have a new creative tool set. Something I am very much looking forward to using!
